Get Out on the Course
All Skill Levels Welcome
Our retreats are not about your handicap. They are about showing up, connecting with people who understand our world, and finding a few days where the weight gets a little lighter. All you need to bring is yourself.
Important — Attendee Costs
Participants who register to attend are responsible for all associated costs, including travel, lodging, and golf fees. If you would like to attend at no cost, see our — nominated and board-approved Heroes attend completely free.
Annual Retreat
Our signature annual retreat honoring Master Sergeant Ryan McCarthy — a warrior, a golfer, and a brother who lost his battle with PTS. Four nights at a private home within the Palmetto Dunes Resort, three rounds of world-class golf, peer support, physical fitness sessions, and the kind of brotherhood that only comes from time spent together on the course.
The group stays together in a private home located within the Palmetto Dunes Resort on Hilton Head Island — one of the most celebrated resort communities on the East Coast. All attendees share the home for the full duration of the retreat, creating the close-knit, around-the-table atmosphere that makes this experience unlike anything else.

Each retreat includes dedicated physical fitness sessions led by SGM (Ret.) Jose Casillas, founder of Warrior Yoga in El Paso, TX. A committed member of the Through The Rough family, Jose brings both military discipline and deep compassion to his work with Veterans and First Responders.
Jose conducts both one-on-one and group yoga sessions throughout the retreat — designed specifically to help attendees release stress, restore focus, and arrive on the first tee feeling grounded and ready. His sessions are a cornerstone of the retreat experience.
Who can attend: This retreat is open to the public. All skill levels welcome — no golf experience required. Signups are on a first-come, first-served basis.
From Those Who've Been There
I came in guarded and left feeling like myself again. The brotherhood on that course reminded me why I served in the first place.

Inaugural Outing Participant
After 20 years on the job, I forgot what it felt like to just breathe. Four days on the course with people who get it — that changed something in me.
First Responder
Inaugural Outing Participant
I didn't expect to open up. But when you're walking a fairway with someone who's carried the same weight, the words just come. This program is the real deal.

Where We've Been
Our first event — where it all began. A small group, a big mission, and the proof that this community was needed.
Our second outing continued to grow the community — more participants, more stories, and more proof that the mission is working.
